Larry's Heart-Bypass Chili

2 lbs shoulder steak, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
2 small cans tomato paste
1 lb bacon
1 can Progresso red beans
1 can Progresso white beans
2 large Spanish onions
3 large green or red peppers
1 lb mushrooms (optional)
2 packets Old El paso Chili Seasoning
1 tbps cumin (optional)

Cut bacon into 1" squares and toss in large pan, cook thoroughly. Cut onions and peppers into strips 1/4" wide, add to bacon, add mushrooms, cook until onion is transparent. Add cubed steak, stir until steak is cooked, add beans, tomato paste, and seasoning. Simmer for 1/2 hour. Serve over rice, with shredded cheddar, and sour cream for garnish and doritos or corn tortillas for dipping.

Warning: If your doctor has told you that if you eat food like this you'll need a heart bypass, try Larry's Kinder and Gentler Chili instead.
