I don=92t believe in typical. I was recently talking to some folks at a =
maker space, and I would say that few of them were doing anything =
=93typical=94. Toolkits are for doing the atypical.

Don=92t assume that you do. Or that =93typical=94 is a meaningful =
concept.

Above you said "just wants to use it=94. Getting the job done is =
completely different. When you can extend the toolkit to do *your* job, =
you can get it done and move on. And that=92s what I want users to be =
able to do. What they want and need, not just *your* kind of project, =
but *any* kind of project.

I think it=92s *your* patronizing attitude that insults users. Users who =
want to get *their* jobs done, not merely what you=92d allow them. Users =
who can do the jobs if you give them tools and let them loose, unlike =
your belief that they need constraints to make the software easy to use.

I would say that a tool with a special feature for every objective is =
difficult to use, and impossible to use if the feature you need is =
missing. But a extensible toolkit is empowering, and only superficially =
difficult.
