Would you mind sharing what book that is? The C++
standard was finalized in 1997 and adopted in 1998.
What recent book about C++ doesn't know about the std
namespace? Is it a book with the word "dummies" in
the title? If so, I sure wish they would revise it
already - this is getting ridiculous. In the meantime,
pick up a copy of Koenig and Moo's Accelerated C++,
which teaches modern C++.

Best regards,

Tom
