Would you mind sharing what book that is? The C++ standard was finalized in 1997 and adopted in 1998. What recent book about C++ doesn't know about the std namespace? Is it a book with the word "dummies" in the title? If so, I sure wish they would revise it already - this is getting ridiculous.
