If you install not just the compiler itself, but also the other
packages provided as part of the DJGPP collection (fileutils, Emacs,
Bash, textutils and all that), you can have a system that is almost
indistinguishable from a true Unix box at first touch.

Win2000 seems to be a hostile environment for DJGPP.  Its DPMI server
has new, unanticipated bugs that cause DJGPP apps to crash if they
call each other with more than a single layer of recursion.  On this
platform, it may be better to use the 'Cygwin32' toolchain, instead of
DJGPP.

As to running the compiler: the README.1st should have made that
glassy clear. Please state what of it you tried, and how it failed.
Include any error messages in full text.
