If you install not just the compiler itself, but also the other packages provided as part of the DJGPP collection (fileutils, Emacs, Bash, textutils and all that), you can have a system that is almost indistinguishable from a true Unix box at first touch. > I have a DJGPP Compiler, loaded it on this win2000 OS and cant even > figure out how to run it? Win2000 seems to be a hostile environment for DJGPP. Its DPMI server has new, unanticipated bugs that cause DJGPP apps to crash if they call each other with more than a single layer of recursion. On this platform, it may be better to use the 'Cygwin32' toolchain, instead of DJGPP. As to running the compiler: the README.1st should have made that glassy clear. Please state what of it you tried, and how it failed. Include any error messages in full text. -- Hans-Bernhard Broeker (broeker AT physik DOT rwth-aachen DOT de) Even if all the snow were burnt, ashes would remain.
