Some newsgroups, like this one, are archived by specific sites or
persons.  In the case of comp.os.msdos.djgpp, the archive is maintained
from the mirrored mailing list, and is available online at
http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/mail-archives/.

However, to search any newsgroup in the world, your best source is the
free DejaNews site:  http://www.dejanews.com/.  It archives all Usenet
postings and maintains an excellent search engine.  It also allows free
news posting for those who don't already have Usenet access.  It's an
excellent resource; I have the Query Filter Form bookmarked.  :-)

BTW, your browser does not expire news postings, unless you have it set
to download them for offline reading.  It is your news provider that
expires articles, usually on a fixed schedule (for example, UUNet's news
host expires articles after approximately 5 days).  In order to retrieve
old articles, you must visit a site like DejaNews that archives them.
