What should I do? Some newsgroups, like this one, are archived by specific sites or persons. In the case of comp.os.msdos.djgpp, the archive is maintained from the mirrored mailing list, and is available online at http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/mail-archives/. However, to search any newsgroup in the world, your best source is the free DejaNews site: http://www.dejanews.com/. It archives all Usenet postings and maintains an excellent search engine. It also allows free news posting for those who don't already have Usenet access. It's an excellent resource; I have the Query Filter Form bookmarked. :-) BTW, your browser does not expire news postings, unless you have it set to download them for offline reading. It is your news provider that expires articles, usually on a fixed schedule (for example, UUNet's news host expires articles after approximately 5 days). In order to retrieve old articles, you must visit a site like DejaNews that archives them. hth -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- | John M.
