Maybe that's why most games (accept quake) suck?  Maybe that's
why they're so slow?

If the compiler is good, who cares if it's free?  Personally,
if djgpp was not free, i'd pay huge money to have it... 
(unlike watcom, which I don't even want, if it was free...)

Face it, VC++ and DJGPP occupy different domains... VC++ is
best for MS-Win Programming, while DJGPP is best at EVERYTHING
else... 

Maybe not DJGPP directly, but "gcc" is pretty common on most 
platforms.
