Ok, no need to reply to my other message now. I've just read FAQ section
15.8 which talks all about system, and tried it on djgpp for myself. System
gives just as much memory as spawn (sorry o the original poster! guess I
can't help you...)

The system() problem I encountered must have related to just my Borland
Compiler (expensive heap of %$%#.. still takes up 50Mb of HD space on CD run
install. At least it is alright for making Windows apps, though. But I hate
Windows too, so it really seems a waste of money. Can't believe that a free
compiler like DJGPP is better than Borland... congrats again to everyone
involved!)
