Hi,
A few commends of my own:
About the tools you mentioned:
- Help compilers aren't very hard to get
- A resource compiler is included
- The GUI-building tool. I agree, you need that. It wouldn't be too hard
to make that I think.
- Debugger. I think there's a debugger in rsxnt. I'm not sure though.
Although I've just started with
- with rsntdj, I don't think a debugger is a really must have.
Is it worhwhile? I really don't know. It is how you view this, I think. For
freeware or shareware author's who just want to write programs, I think
this is a good alternative. It is certainly a LOT cheaper. But, if you want
to write commercial programs, then you'd probably be better off, with a
commercial compiler. Now, I haven't used rsxntdj a lot yet, and I am
running into some problems, I do think rsxtnd can be used to create
programs from scratch, once you have a GUI-building tool. In rsxnt is also
included an IDE, so all in all it is a more or less complete package, for
those who don't need full-blown and full-featured expensive compilers.
