That means your modification to the PATH didn't work out.

Probably yes.  But that's not the problem you're facing right now.

Read the Readme.1st again.  You'll notice that the instructions about
modifying autoexec.bat are not meant for XP.  

There, the canonical way is to modify the environment via the
ControlPanel->System->Extended->Environment dialog, or by running a
'setdjgppvars.bat' batch file with the two SET commands in it, as part
of the initialization of a command window.

[And please post more legibly next time: normal spelling, including
capitals and full stops, and break lines before 80 characters instead
of whole paragraphs as one excessively long line.]
