You're obviously interpreting version numbers as if they were floating point numbers --- but they aren't. 2.10 is to be read as "two dot ten", not "two dot one zero". In particular, it definitely does not mean 2 + 10/100. The only actual problem in this area is the 8+3 filename limitation imposed on the distribution zip file names.
