I was wondering if anyone has any information on making programs that
communicate with each other by means of something like a shared disk
drive... I am interested in programming some MUD-type games that could
be run both on a LAN and on single computers with multitasking OS's,
where users would each run a copy of the same program. The best way I
can come up with is to use (temporary) files to communicate between
"nodes" (or instances or whatever), but I'm not sure exactly how I might
want to implement this method. So, I was hoping that somebody either has
some experience in this area, or maybe some reources (FAQs, docs, source
code, etc.) that I could get my hands on...
Thanks!
