it's not a bug, it's a feature ;-).

The bug report system seems to use '\' as an escape character as well, so
what you have to do to get '\n' is type: '\\n'

Knowing my luck, I probably didn't count the '\'s properly above and the thing
will be garbled. But you get the idea :).

This "bug" makes it extremely inconvenient to submit bugfix patches containing
newlines; for example, changes to format strings.  One might notice that my
solution to #000153 was garbled in this way.
