BTW: I am not on the mailing list

I cannot seem to compile pgcc-19980531.  I get the following error 
during the make:
gcc -c  -DIN_GCC   -DUSE_GNULIBC_1 -g  -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DHAIFA     -I.

I am using the recommended installation procedure for egcs, i.e.
I've made an egcsobj directory in which I ran configure and then I used
make bootstrap-lean
