It seems that I could restore the site to working state, could everybody check wether their ftp/html files (if any) are ok, since the backup tape couldn't be restored, and I had to restore by "different means" (you don't want to know). If the file is there, it should be ok (i.e. there is no file corruption), so checking for existance should suffice.
