Just I quick googled for your problem and discovered at first this tread:
http://www.freelists.org/archives/arachne/12-2007/msg00038.html
There is somebody who had some problems to get arachne recognize his paket
driver for his 3com LAN card 3com 3c905tx pci.
So even if this guy have some problems to get his Arachne browser running
with this paket driver it shows that such drivers are also available for
3com cards. The driver he mentioned is called 3c90xpd.com.
