Actually, I think it was Seaware (or something close to that)... the folks who made ARC (the archiver) and Sealink (the BBS file transfer protocol). Phil changed the name of his program from PKARC to PKPAK (although it still made *.ARC files), then came out with PKZIP. ARC sort of faded away after that.
