To: opendos AT delorie DOT com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Reply-To: opendos AT delorie DOT com Hi again. Let me introduce you to my case. I work in a place that have several computers (around 20) connected through a Novell Netware Network. Some of them have installed Window$, and some others just m$ DOS. The program we use to manage sales is writen in clipper, and runs over DOS. My goal is to make all the computers to run Free Software. I started changing all the Office with OpenOffice, and made some test with Novell DOS 7 where I don't need graphical enviroment. In the computers where I need it, I'll put (or I'll try at least) Linux running Dosemu (I've already made some failed attempts...). All right, thats my goal, but I have had some troubles with Novell DOS. The program I need to run is very very heavy, and needs a lot of files open at the same time (I have to add the line 'files=150' to config.sys). When I replaced the m$ DOS with Novell one, I had severals hungs ups and some bad stuff (like the dump of the registries...). My question is: Is there a version of OpenDOS or other not MS DOS that can replace Perfectly the performance of ms's one? I just load hymem.sys and works fine with msDOS..... Thank you a lot for your help. Sincerely, Martin. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. http://search.yahoo.com
