I updated my site about DOS mp3 player, libraries and tools. http://www.8ung.at/dos/player.htm Here are some news in the mp3/ogg DOS scene: - MPXPLAY ( http://www.geocities.com/mpxplay/ ): many features, very often updated, source code avaiable. Includes support for _all_ kinds of mp3s (variable bit rate, mp3pro etc.) and for the OGG (http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/index.html) file format. - LAME/Bladeenc: Current DOS version of LAME is downloadable at www.opus.co.tt/dave/index.htm ! Bladeenc developement is stopped. Both are mp3 and OGG Encoders. - New or updated ALLEGRO/DJGPP (C/C++ for DOS) libraries: +AllegroMP3 http://nekros.freeshell.org/delirium +AllegroOGG http://nekros.freeshell.org/delirium +Alog http://lyrian.obnix.com/alogg/ What is the OGG file format: It is a music format like MPEG Layer 3 (mp3), but: + it is free + and has smaller files with better quality! Look at http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/index.html for more info! More links are at my site.
