Pascal is much more "readable", but even so, it would be difficult for Jim to see the structure of a program because he would not be able to see visual clues such as indentation. Much as I loathe Basic and it's lack of structure, in this situation it may actually be the most appropriate programming language. However, as I don't use Basic, I don't know what command-line compilers are available, if any.
