I only remember that SI used to crash under early issues of Novell DOS 7. Norton Utilities 7 work like a charm here under DR-DOS 7.03. I donīt have NU 6 here to run some tests. Does someone else use NU 6 and has problems as well? At the moment, I would think, that the problem is not with NU 6 and DR-DOS as is, but with the general configuration of the memory manager. It can sometimes be a bit difficult to properly set up EMM386.EXE. If you post a MEM /A output and your CONFIG.SYS file we might help you configuring (and optimizing) your setup. > - Using Fastback I get the occasional system lock up, which is cleared > by a cold boot... Are you using the FASTBACK utility which was shipped with Novell DOS 7 or a different issue? > I have DPMS enabled maximum cache on NWCACHE and 2 MB Ram disk. > System is 66 MHz 486 with 16MB ram, ISA and PCI buses... I can see no problem with this. If you post your configuration files, we might help you tune your system. Greetings, Matthias -- ; http://www.uni-bonn.de/~uzs180/mpdokeng.html; http://mpaul.drdos.org
