AFAIK DiskManagerīs DDO is loading a small BIOS extension which fakes
multiple physical drives with up to 8 Gb each instead of one huge drive.
This way, you can use larger drives even under older operating systems,
be them DR-DOS or other DOS flavours - there is no direct correlation
with any specific DOS version.

However, you may have problems with other, in particular protected mode
operating systems, which do not properly handle the load image of the
BIOS extension while the OS loads, or - as protected mode OS - bypass
this BIOS extension.

Iīm not sure if DiskManager is compatible with for example Linux or
NetWare or NT. I too only use it to overcome the 512 Mb barrier
(on an old 386sx test machine).
