EVEN IF THE BIOS SUPPORTS MORE THAN 8GB, whereas the configuration utility built into Ontrack DM can "FDISK+FORMAT" the complete installed HDD. I can't verify this for Ontrack DM because the only platform I'm running with (OEM) Ontrack DM has only a 3.2GB HDD; however Maxtor's MaxBlast configures my 30GB HDD. A better (and cheaper?) solution for this problem is to use a Promise UDMA33/66/100 add-on PCI card (I use a UDMA66 card on my 166MHz box), or, for a 486 with no PCI slot, a GSI Inc. Model 2C add-on ISA card. Alan S. 12/17/2001
