I read this at the Allegro Mailing list. (Is the BEST DOS game - graphic,sound,joystick,config-file etc - library for C/C++) and think, that it is a very good news!!!! So I thought I should post it on "my main mailinglists" :-) Much fun!! ------- Beginn der weitergeleiteten Nachricht ------- From: Bertrand Coconnier To: AllegroGL List , Allegro Main List Reply-To: allegro AT canvaslink DOT com Subject: [AL] AllegroGL is ported on DOS Date: 12.08.01 23:55:47 The title says it all. I have updated the driver (called AMesa) that Bernhard Tschirren wrote 2 years ago to use Mesa with Allegro and I have written the code to use AllegroGL with AMesa. You can download the patches at my web page http://perso.club-internet.fr/bcoconni It consists of a zip archive which contains two other archive files. You have to unzip them respectively over the main directory of Mesa and AllegroGL, you compile and that's all. The interesting thing is that this code does not use any DOS routines, it only calls some Allegro and OpenGL functions and can be easily ported to any platform Mesa and Allegro can support : so far, I have successfully use this architecture (AllegroGL + Allegro + Mesa + driver AMesa) under DOS and Linux without GLX ! (makefiles for Linux are not provided) Also note that it uses a software implementation of OpenGL and that it is an alpha release. For more info, see the readme.txt I don't know if some people is interested by using AllegroGL under DOS but I have had much fun in coding that stuff. Any comments are welcome, I am not a DOS specialist and some LOCK_* macros may have to be added or removed, just tell me...
