[...] Yes, thanks for all that information, but I did not explain very well my question: I need to discover that information from within a program, or in other words I need a function that gives me the information. There are functions that tell me the available memory, but if someone has allocated a big chunk of memory (say for some buffer) my estimative can get fouled... Alain
