Yes, it is. The EIDE channel brakes down the HDD only very little, the CDRW should run fullspeed. IIRC, the IDE is bridged via ISA to PCI. All in all the IDE channel is too slow for the drives connected to the EIDE. The old HDD and the old CDROM are ok. I do not remember exact transfer rates, but the difference was quite enough to go with the risky constellation having both HDD and CDRW together at the same cable.
