Hi Peter, hi all,

The error message "Cannot find IBMBIO.LDR" you are seeing is due to 
the fact that you didn t uninstalled DR-DOS LOADER prior to switching 
to NT. 

IBMBIO.LDR is a file in the root of the boot drive (C:) with hidden
and system attributes. It is launched from the bootstrap loader 
in the Boot Master Record (MBR) and represents the second stage 
bootstrap loader that would load the LOADER file which also 
resides in the root directory of the boot drive. LOADER is the
file that displays the multi-OS boot menu during startup.

When installing foreign OSes, the MBR will usually get overwritten
with one of their own breed, but NT seems to have only deleted
(or physically moved) the IBMBIO.LDR (and optionally the LOADER) file.
This is why the old MBR still looks for IBMBIO.LDR and displays
the error message before it continues with the traditional boot 
method by looking up the active partition in the partition table.

If you just want to fully deinstall LOADER, you should run
LOADER /U at the root of drive C: (which hopefully is still
a FAT drive). If you are faced any anti-virus software warning
messages, answer "yes" to allow access to the MBR, since LOADER /U 
attempts to write back the original MBR code (which is also stored
in a backup file on drive C:).

If this does not work for some reasons, try MS-DOS FDISK /MBR
or DR-DOS FDISK "Rewrite Master Boot Record". This does not
rewrite the partition table as long as the table contains valid
data, it only refreshes the bootstrap code.

If you want to reenable LOADER to still boot DR-DOS with F2
and NT with F1 ("Standard boot"), all you need is run:

LOADER boot.lst

in the root of drive C:. If you want to make the F1 option
the default, remove the [timeout] section from one of the
individual entries in the BOOT.LST file, and run it as follows
(for a 5 second timeout):

LOADER boot.lst[5]

This allows peaceful coexistance of DR-DOS LOADER and NT FlexBoot,
and thereby still have the choice between DR-DOS or NT.
