However, it sounds like you are simply missing COMMAND.COM ... from memory, you will be prompted for the path to it (not entirely sure - never lost it ... ;-). So, simply tell it "C:\DRDOS" (or whatever), if you think there's a copy of it there. Otherwise, copy it from another machine to a 5.25" disk and tell it "A:\" ... If it doesn't ask you where to find COMMAND.COM, then you have to boot from floppy, which means you need to create a bootable diskette (5.25") - with DR-DOS 6.0 preferably, although any DOS 5.0 or higher can allow you to access your hard drive and fix whatever mess you may find there ... Anyway, you can create this boot diskette on any machine with a 5.25" drive (again, preferably a DR-DOS 6.0 machine), using the "SYS" command (eg. "SYS A:" or "SYS B:"). Then, if this is done using DR-DOS 6.0, also copy SYS.COM (SYS.EXE?) onto the diskette - you may need it if things are fairly bad ... A copy of CHKDSK.EXE will also be useful ... When ready, re-boot the sick machine using this diskette and copy COMMAND.COM to C:\ (if that doesn't fix the machine, then try "SYS C:" ...).
