However, I don't think it's worth the hassle - GEM/1 maxed out at EGA, resolution-wise, and only offers slight advantages over GEM/2 and up (the Desktop is mainly better in GEM/1, and the window frames are different). If you want a GEM system, it's probably better to try out FreeGEM (that's on the Deltasoft URL again) - it's got some new features, it looks more modern, it's more customisable and it's GPLed as well.
