This new issue supports up to 80 code pages and character sets available with these printers, including download or cardridge fonts, EPROM options, etc. I have updated the file to support the new PC DOS 7 / 2000 code page 850 (Multilingual) variant with Eurocurrency symbol at D5h. This codepage is available under ID 8501. Similar, NECPINW.CPI 2.02 supports the codepage variants introduced with Aitor Santamaria's EUROTSR extension for FreeDOS which introduce the Eurocurrency symbol at 9Fh (which, BTW, is not a good code point to use, IMHO...). The archive NECPI202.ZIP comes with documentation and sources. (BTW. I have changed the license to GNU GPL 2 now). I will upload this file tonight and would like to invite all of you who have access to NEC Pinwriters to download this file from my homepage http://www.rhrz.uni-bonn.de/~uzs180/mpdokeng.html to test it under a broad range of printers and configurations. I also have a similar file for the Epson LQ-570+/LQ-1070+ in ALPHA stages, and if the techniques prove to work, it would be able to adapt this to support *many* other printers, including inkjet and laserjet models. Please read the ToDo list in NECPINW.ASM for a list of open questions. If you have access to some of the printer manuals I would like to check some of my assumptions on your printer model with you. If you can provide manuals (specs and control sequences) for other printers they will prove to be very helpful. At present NECPINW.CPI supports only DR DOS 6.0-7.05, but future issues may also support MS-DOS/PC DOS and FreeDOS (work still in progress).
