I would like to know hat problem people are having with DRDOS 7.03=20 FDiSk,
7.02 for that matter? I have been using it for several = eyars now=20 and have
had no problems, in fact just the opposite. MS crap plays = musical=20 chairs
with it's entries in the partition table and plays heck with = Linux=20 partition
by switching them around. DRDOS FDISK always puts the = extended=20 partition in
the fourth entry no matter how many other entries you = may have.=20 I have
FDISked IDE, SCSI and Syquest SCSI cartridges and have never = had a=20 problem,
I have partitioned FAT 16, FAT 32, ext2, NTFS, Linux SWAP, = and DOS=20 extened
partitions with no problems. I use it because I can froce the = Block/Cluster
sizes I wish to use for FAT32, NTFS, ext2, etc. Haven't = tried=20 it with a
native OS/2 yet, just don't have the space to play with it = at this=20 time.
(HPFS) But since HPFS and NTFS are about the same, I doubt that = there=20 would
be any problems.

I keep seeing references to problems = with DRDOS=20 FDISK. I would like to talk
to a person that has actually had a = problem with=20 it and see if I can
duplicate the problem. First of all you have to=20 understand the stupid
dictates of MS crap. First an MS partition MUST = begin=20 on a cylinder boudry.
You cannot start at a track,head other than = zero, this=20 is not true with all
OSes (Linux has no such requirement.) Second, = for=20 some reason I cannot
figure out, you lose the last cylinder = with MS=20 crap. I have designated the
use of the last cylinder for DOS and it = hiccups.=20 Don't ask me why, figure
out Gates crap for software yourself. So if = you use=20 the FDISK /X, be sure
and let it so it's own thing for DOS partitions = (this=20 includes all MS crap
for operating systems.) If you use Linux on the = last=20 portion of your drive,
you can use the last cylinder, because MS crap = cannot=20 read it anyway. You
cannot maximize a DOS partition and you may have = problems=20 doing it with ext2
partitions if DOSis somehow involved. I cannot = remember=20 which case I could
and could not maximize Linux partitions on the = same drive=20 as MS crap is on.
I believe you can do it if it is an ext2 primary = partition=20 and not in a DOS
extended partition. MS crap for software sucks big = time. I=20 believe you can
force the use of the last cylinder with DRDOS FDISK, = I think=20 I tried it a
few months ago to try and see why MS crap would not use = that=20 last cylinder.
Well I found out, MS crap hiccups when you use it! I = had tried=20 it a few
years ago with Linux FDISK and got the same results. Gates = never=20 could
count! Sector 1 as the first sector???? The rest of the world = it is=20 sector
0. Cluster 2 as the first cluster??????, 1/3=3D3.33334????? = Leave it to=20 Gates
to screw up a logical world.
