If I then run ex. defrag on the drive in DOS I'll need to format the drive to get all the space back. By hiding them (well I haven't reinstalled Win95 yet but it worked with my old Windows installation) it can't get corrupted in some other way either (for instance there are almost no new viruses for DOS anymore but Windows still gets new).
