No way to get it back, ever. That is not entirly true. Even after "corrupting" a partition table, you can use Linux to read the disk still. If the poster of the original message can, backup/copy everything to tape/disk or whatever is available, and "re-do" the paritions. (How else did they get Clinton's Email and stuff) I would suggest a package like Image Magic by PowerQuest as it can create images of the drives and put them back the way you want/need them to be.
