Subject: Microsoft attempting to kill Caldera DR DOS case

Take a check of Friday's action by Microsoft:
     "Microsoft filed on Friday a series of motions to dismiss most
     of the claims brought against it by Caldera, an Orem, Utah-
     based company that owns DR-DOS. Specifically, Microsoft asked
     the U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City for nine partial
     summary judgment motions to dismiss key claims by Caldera. The
     motions attempt to debunk Caldera's claims that Windows 95
     included an "illegal tie" of the MS-DOS operating systems and
     earlier versions of Windows, Microsoft officials said. The
     Redmond, Wash.-based vendor also asked the court to drop
     claims alleging Microsoft intentionally designed Win 3.1 to be
     incompatible with the DR-DOS OS."
