I haven't used a zip drive before but all my cd drives instructions suggest the cd on second ide and the cd lines in config.sys and autoexec.bat as the last command. also the Novell ndos7 manual says that mscdex is not very compatible with ndos, and nwcdex has been improved over mscdex and tweaked to fit ndos7. Since there have been a lot of changes in newdos, opendos, and caldera/drdos the problem may be between versions of nwcdex, taskmanager and emm386 that you have loaded. you might check caldera's web site to get the most current files. they have a package download of all the most current changes to all the files. You could also contact mitsumi and see if they have a more current driver for your cd-rom drive for use with dos. Good luck. Bob 'doman' Moss. Logging in from the north side of california.
