This only applies to the old Win95. In one of the readme or setup text files it was mentioned that one could install Win95 without upgrading/installing over an existing DOS (and Windows 3.x). In doing so '95 would automatically create a dual boot setup. So in this case it could probably be put on a separate partition. I don't know if that applies to the later '95 (OEMSR2?) which isn't (apparently) compatible with FAT16/older DOS installations. Don't quote me on this. Hopefully someone has more detail on this.
