X-mailer: Pegasus Mail v3.22 Message-Id: <01303410570756@2.sbbs.se> Reply-To: opendos AT delorie DOT com Thanks for the advice! Writing "memmax -l" worked, as did MS's "loadfix.com", but not DR-DOS "loadfix.bat" which complained about "invalid directory". I didn't quite understand that thing about compressing and decompressing. Is it so, that the cause of this malfunction is due to the fact that these files once have been zipped? And unzipped with a not-so-up-to-date version of PKUnzip? I don't quite get this "packing" thing... As for memory management, in both cases when I tried booting from diskette, both with MS-DOS 6.0 and DR-DOS 7.02, their respective "himem.sys" *were* utilized and DOS loaded high in HMA. One difference, though, is that DR-DOS 7.03 BETA uses version 2.33 of Himem.sys versus 2.32 for DR-DOS 7.02 *and* that 7.03 BETA loads *more* of DOS, plus Command.com, into HMA, thereby freeing up more low memory.
