What about making it user-selectable ? :-)

Why not UPX, then ? AFAIK it's the SFX compressor with the best 
compression ratio around...

I think that's quite hard. 8086 doesen't provide a mechanism to protect 
memory areas. Worse, they are quite slow, so a context switch might use 
too much time, making programs run TOO slow...
