Of course then, I have to find an ESDI controller for : my 380 M ESDI drive... Well, I haven't got ESDI yet, but got RedHat working (barely) in 30 megs of drive by manually unzipping the ramdisk image, editing with my friendly Nortons Disk Doctor, and re-zipping the image, transferring it to floppy. I was finally able to mount the CD and install the minimum required packages. Anyway, I then decided to sacrifice another 40 meg HD to give me some more room. Well! After that effort, it was almost a snap to rearrange things so that my second drive was the /usr partition, and add full mail/UUCP/PPP to the package. After that, I found I was also able to dd the ramdisk image into ramdisk, mount it, and make alterations...then gzip it back up and dd it back to the disk. Almost made Linux friendly... Only what I _didn't_ know was that just around the corner, my /usr drive was going to die on me (funny that!) and I would be back to 30 megs again 8-( So now I'm back to writing this on Pegasus Mailer, my favourite program. Ooops, I haven't exactly kept this on topic, have I?? Right - can I have an unmistakeable answer to this question? Does DOSEMU _have_ to have an X library to run, or can it run using _just_ the tty console, with no X involved? Also, what else would I need (aside from more HD space 8-) to run OpenDos 7.01/DrDos 7.02 reliably including, say, DJGPP? Thanks.
