I found that redirection fails after installing LFN support (beta 3)
Simply run the following commands:

copy file filecopy>nul               ; echoes nothing
longname /i
copy file filecopy>nul               ' echoes 1 File(s) copied
longname /u

Under LFN loaded mycmd>nul does not work as expected. 
However mycmd > nul works.
