I A answer to Robert Sears: This problem can be solved without problems but it is unfortunatly not fully documented. 1. Word 6 for Windows uses the Windows VXD, VSHARE.386. This driver can work under NW/Open/DR DOS only if SHARE.EXE loaded (unlike MS-/PC-DOS). If SHARE.EXE loaded WinWord does not need VSHARE more. But only loading SHARE is not enough to succesfully use Winword!! Because: 2. The default locks count of the DR DOS SHARE is not enough for WinWord. You must increase it manually. I use SHARE /L:200 in AUTOEXEC and have not problems with disk writing. A question to Caldera: Has MS-DOS SHARE/VSHARE interface to dynamically change locks count or to disable SHARE if VSHARE loaded? If yes, can you implement this interface into DR DOS? If no, please describe this problem in DOSBOOK and SETUP. -- Pavel V.
