DR-DOS 7.02 uses DRDOSCFG to point to where DRDOS.INI resides. Novell DOS 7 uses NWDOSCFG to point to where NWDOS.INI resides. The environment variable OS= gives the name of the OS and VER= gives the version. OpenDOS 7.01 sets OS=OPENDOS and VER=7 DR-DOS 7.02 sets OS=DRDOS and VER=7 Novell DOS 7 sets OS=NWDOS and VER=7 Hope this helps Roger ---------- > From: Mr M S Aitchison > To: caldera-opendos AT rim DOT caldera DOT com > Cc: OpenDOS-developer AT delorie DOT com > Subject: > Date: 24 February 1998 05:10 > > If I want to write a program that takes notice of the colour settings, > etc in the Caldera/DRDOS/Novell-DOS .ini file, what is the best way to > determine the name of that file, given that it won't always be OPENDOS.INI > and won't always be in the same directory (e.g. mine is C:\DOS)?? > > Is there a system call that returns the name to look for? > > --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Mark Aitchison, \_ Phone: +64 3 364-2947 home 337-1225 > Dept of Physics & Astronomy, University of Canterbury, /) Web: www.phys.canterbury.ac.nz/~physmsa > Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND.
