WfW 32-bit file access bypasses the file system -- i.e. DOS, whether Microsoft's or Caldera's. It's incompatible with lots of things. Symantec's DISKREET.SYS driver springs to mind. Oh, and the old familiar batch trick of testing for a subdirectory using IF EXIST C:\MYDIR\NUL fails under WfW 32BFA too. Your problem is probably not Caldera's fault, just a byproduct of the way 32BFA works. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll bet you a green-chile enchilada against a bucket of borscht that the DR DOS password scheme also breaks under 32BFA. raster AT highfiber DOT com
