right, you've run into opendos drive recognition problems.
I've had these problems with floppy drives on an ami bios 386 sx with
7/7/91 bios date.  The only work-around I know will work for floppy drive
problems
is a complete power down of the system and restarting the system.
These problems conceivably could extend to all drive types, so it's
probable the drive recognition code is flakey whereever it lives.
