Good idea. Document it! On a semi-related note, would it be too much hassle to add a /R to VER to display the BDOS number, HMA and UMB link status, and perhaps the serial number? IBM added this simple innovation, and I've grown used to it. Microsoft simultaneously supports it (try VER /R under MS-DOS) and tries to ignore it (try VER /? or HELP VER under MS-DOS.)
