I've tried it with taskmgr - fine. Tried it with dosemu (and unix updating a file that is accessed via LREDIR under Dosemu) with, um, mixed success... the problem seems to be my display getting messed up when writing to stdout within the Turbo IDE within TASMMGR within DOSEMU. So it should be okay running it "normally".
