It's not quite my only, but getting close. If 'Aurora' wasn't for PC only I might use that more, but I like a standard interface. > Hmm i tried upgrading QEMM to 8.x but it caused huge memory overhead > (my system is dual monitor so i have less high memory than average user > does) - so i switched back to my old 6.0. OSF/1, although I have a CompuServe account as backup. On my machine in England (which is at my house there, relaying stuff to me at work here in Germany) I run KA9Q, which is a complete internet node package using PPP or SLIP and containing its own TCP/IP stack and a multitasking OS on top of DOS. Eventually that machine will be converted to Linux and use the Linux TCP/IP stack. > > Note that the DPMI server supplied with the DJGPP stuff will only be > > installed if no DPMI server is detected - it doesn't know about broken > > ones... > > I use it now - is it better than old qdpmi.sys? CSDPMI is pretty good, but not as good as the new QDPMI (since I use DesqView extensively under DOS, the Quarterdeck programs are better optimised). > Caldera said "multitasking",so i was waiting for Concurrent DOS kernel.. > I was really afraid they could offer Novell DOS pseudo-multitasking system > instead - and they did ! :(( Which is why I stick with DesqView.
