Precedence: bulk Although the famous bug in SHARE.EXE is fixed in the last update of NWDOS 7 and in OpenDOS, this SHARE is as before not fully MS-DOS compatible!!! Well, this bug appears seldom, but it is really!!! Symptom: after the compiling of any source file with FPK-PASCAL compiler (ver. 0.9.22) (free 32-Bit Pascal compiler for DJGPP available from ftp://ftp.uni-freiburg.de/pub/pc/msdos/fpk-pascal) this source file cannot be renamed by DOS, opened by MultiEdit etc ("FILE SHARING CONFLICT"). This appearance occurs under NWDOS 7(15) and OpenDOS 7.01 but not under MS-DOS (6.22). Cause: in the meantime unknown. I couldn't repeat this effect using other 32-Bit programs including my own tests. The source code of FPK-Pascal is also available on this FTP site but it is very large and I have no time to debug it now. But that is most likely a conflict between SHARE and DJGPP file management because the 16-bit version of the compiler compiled from the same source code does not cause this bug (but I didn't test the conditional switches in the compiler source!!!). -- Pavel V.
